Counter-Terror Operation Stops Trucks On I-20 A team of federal agents stopped tractor-trailers on Interstate 20 just west of Atlanta, inspecting each truck as it passed through a weigh station, and Channel 2 has learned its part of a counter-terrorism operation.
Channel 2's Linda Stouffer reported a flashing sign on the interstate directed the trucks to pull into a state-owned inspection station near Lee Road in Douglas County at the height of the evening commute. (WSBTV)
Obama creates top job for guarding online security President Obama announced Friday he is creating the post of cyber security coordinator to oversee "a new comprehensive approach to securing America's digital infrastructure."
The president said he will personally select the person who takes on that post.
"I'll depend on this official in all matters relating to cyber security, and this official will have my full support and regular access to me as we confront these challenges," he said.
The economic crisis cannot be tackled without ensuring the safety of the nation's online activities, Obama said. "America's economic prosperity in the 21st century will depend on cyber security," he said. (CNN)
a Democrat in office does in fact mean bigger government along with unnecessary intrusion into the lives of American citizens. Funnily enough a Republican member of President Barack Obama's administration is now proposing a new kind of tax that is not likely to go over well with anyone that owns a vehicle. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said on Friday that he backs a plan to tax motorists based on how many miles they drive rather than the ages old standard method of taxing gasoline based on usage.
For more than half a century, gasoline taxes have paid for the federal portion of highway and bridge construction. But according to LaHood, this system can no longer be relied upon to raise enough funds to keep the country's transportation system moving.
"We should look at the vehicular miles program where people are actually clocked on the number of miles that they traveled," said LaHood. (Cleveland Leader)
Pros and Cons Regarding a "North American Union" If it hadn’t happened in my own backyard, I might have missed it. Humbling, but true. It’s been reported by other news sources by now, but since it did occur so close to home I’ll share my angle….
Inasmuch as I’ve been following the actions of globalists for almost thirty years, it may surprise that I’ve only taken to writing with regularity fairly recently. The reason for this is that their machinations of late have become more audacious and their effects apparent (i.e., the Amnesty bill, the Mexican trucking “experiment” and the SPP, Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, all of which have been unpopular with the majority of Americans, but have strangely taken shape anyway – or come damn close). Texans fear US sovereignty will disappear down superhighway If it were built, the road would be one of the engineering wonders of the 21st century -a trade route a quarter of a mile wide, carving a path from Mexico through the heart of America to Canada.
In its most radical form, it would allow lorry drivers to travel hundreds of miles from the Mexican border deep into the US before reaching customs and immigration controls in Kansas. (London Telegraph)
