2/12/2007  Czech President Calls Man-Made Global Warming a Myth, Questions Al Gores Sanity
"Global warming is a false myth and every serious person and scientist says so. It is not fair to refer to the U.N. panel. IPCC is not a scientific institution: it's a political body, a sort of non-government organization of green flavor. It's neither a forum of neutral scientists nor a balanced group of scientists. These people are politicized scientists who arrive there with a one-sided opinion and a one-sided assignment."

The Office of Emergency Management was in Building 7. That was a hardened bunker built to withstand just about anything that New York would face. That building had a lot of important shit in it and there was enough stuff in that building to bury evidence on other fronts - financial records, government records. There's no way that that just fell down on its own, I don't believe it."

2/10/2007  Putin warns US policy creating new arms race
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Saturday that the United States' increased use of military force is creating a new arms race, with smaller nations turning toward developing nuclear weapons. Speaking at a conference of the world's top security officials, including Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, Putin said nations "are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force in international relations." "One state, the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way," he told the 250 officials, including more than 40 defense and foreign ministers.

2/9/2007  The U.S. and Mexico: A Newly Courting Couple?
During his first visit to Washington after being elected president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon didn't sound that different from other Mexican presidents trying to make a splash here. He frequently repeated his desire to make Mexico "one of the best places to invest in the world," and added that Mexico's prosperity would help reduce the number of illegal immigrants coming to the U.S. Instead of having "people crossing the border looking for capital ... we need capital crossing the border looking for people," he said. If some of us who heard him speak to Washington Post editors and reporters seemed a bit skeptical, you couldn't blame us. Not only had many of us heard similar pronouncements before, but here was a man who had won the presidency on such a close vote that the runner-up tried to form a parallel government and members of Congress sought to prevent Calderon from being sworn in. But Calderon has acted swiftly and confidently since his chaotic inauguration in December. He deployed thousands of troops to half a dozen Mexican states plagued by a growing and gruesome wave of drug violence. And he cleared the way for the extradition of 15 drug traffickers to the United States, including some major figures such as Osiel Cardenas Guillen, head of the powerful Gulf Cartel. - There is even talk of substantially increasing U.S. monetary assistance, a heresy to some in this country but more realistic today considering the current climate. Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, has introduced a bill in the U.S. Congress to provide Mexico $850 million in aid during the next five years, including funds for helicopters and police training. There are obstacles to $850 million worth of cooperation. Many here believe that Mexico, as a middle-income country, has enough resources to help itself or is too corrupt to properly utilize funds. Mexicans too have been traditionally suspicious of U.S. intentions in their territory and, as Cuellar says, "We cannot erase that history." If more assistance does become a reality it would likely be targeted mostly for Mexico's poorer southern regions, according to a U.S. official.

2/6/2007  Brzezinski Suggests False Flag Event Could Kick-Start Iran War
Top globalist warns Congress of provocation or terrorist attack inside U.S. - Former National Security Advisor and founding member of the Trilateral Commission Zbigniew Brzezinski tacitly warned a Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week that an attack on Iran could be launched following a staged provocation in Iraq or a false flag terror attack within the U.S. Brzezinski alluded to the potential for the Bush administration to manufacture a false flag Gulf of Tonkin type incident in describing a "plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran," which would revolve around "some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the US blamed on Iran, culminating in a defensive US military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

2/5/2007  A 9/11 conspiracy virus is sweeping the world, but it has no basis in fact
Loose Change is a sharp, slick film with an authoritative voiceover, but it drowns the truth in an ocean of nonsense - There is a virus sweeping the world. It infects opponents of the Bush government, sucks their brains out through their eyes and turns them into gibbering idiots. First cultivated in a laboratory in the US, the strain reached these shores a few months ago. In the past fortnight, it has become an epidemic. Scarcely a day now passes without someone possessed by this sickness, eyes rolling, lips flecked with foam, trying to infect me. The disease is called Loose Change. It is a film made by three young men that airs most of the standard conspiracy theories about the attacks of September 11 2001. Unlike the other 9/11 conspiracy films, Loose Change is sharp and swift, with a thumping soundtrack, slick graphics and a calm and authoritative voiceover. Its makers claim that it has now been watched by 100 million people. The Pentagon, the film maintains, was not hit by a commercial airliner. There was "no discernible trace" of a plane found in the wreckage, and the entrance and exit holes in the building were far too small. It was hit by a cruise missile. The twin towers were brought down by means of "a carefully planned controlled demolition". You can see the small puffs of smoke caused by explosives just below the cascading sections. All other hypotheses are implausible: the fire was not hot enough to melt steel and the towers fell too quickly. Building 7 was destroyed by the same means a few hours later.

2/4/2007  46 nations want global warming police
Forty-five nations answered France's call Saturday for a new environmental body to slow inevitable global warming and protect the planet, perhaps with policing powers to punish violators. Absent were the world's heavyweight polluter, the United States, and booming nations on the same path as the U.S. -- China and India. The charge led by French President Jacques Chirac came a day after the release of an authoritative -- and disturbingly grim -- scientific report in Paris that said global warming is "very likely" caused by mankind and that climate change will continue for centuries even if heat-trapping gases are reduced. It was the strongest language ever used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, whose last report was issued in 2001. The document, a collaboration of hundreds of scientists and government officials, was approved by 113 nations, including the United States.

1/30/2007  Trial Nearing, Alleged Call Girl Found Dead: Howard Police Probe Apparent Suicide of Former 'Top-Notch' UMBC Professor
She was a former college professor who had lost almost everything -- her stellar academic reputation, her financial well-being and her anonymity in the swanky suburban neighborhood where she was accused of working as a high-priced prostitute. With Brandy Britton's trial planned to start next week, the former University of Maryland Baltimore County professor apparently took her own life over the weekend, hanging herself in her living room, Howard County police say. A family member found the body Saturday afternoon. Police say they do not suspect foul play. It was a grievous end to a life that friends and colleagues say was once filled with remarkable promise and ambition. Britton, 43, was the first in her family to go to college, double-majoring in biology and sociology. Her first sociology professor, Sheila Cordray, told The Washington Post last year that Britton was "one of the brightest students I've ever had." The woman whose looks matched her intelligence may still have possessed the long, blond hair, the glossy pink lips and the glamorous figure of her youth. And she may have still projected the warm, friendly demeanor of a small-town girl from Oregon.

1/23/2007  Conspiracy theorists given a free run at continental pact: An inept public relations strategy has led to raging hysteria from critics in Canada and the U.S. about a common-sense effort under way to strengthen the position of North American business and ensure continental security.
An inept public relations strategy has led to raging hysteria from critics in Canada and the U.S. about a common-sense effort under way to strengthen the position of North American business and ensure continental security. The Security and Prosperity Partnership was first conjured up in March 2005 at meeting in Waco, Texas, of George W. Bush, Paul Martin and Vicente Fox. One year later in Cancun, Bush, Fox and newly elected Stephen Harper announced a North American Competitiveness Council to help implement the continental strategy.
